AIRLINE GUIDES / CABIN CREW CLASS

Singapore Airlines Cabin Crew Career Guide

One airline can publish different criteria for different recruitment markets. Use these official-source examples to read the right listing, rather than build one SIA rule for everyone.

Singapore base, different recruitment markets

SIA's career overview identifies Singapore as the work base. The official inventory checked listed requisitions for Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Japan. These markets are a snapshot at the time of checking, rather than a permanent list.

The market in a listing title helps identify its recruitment scope. It does not automatically explain every nationality that may apply. A publicly accessible page is also not proof that every Indonesian applicant meets its conditions.

  • At least five SPM credits including English / five GCE O Level credits including English, or Higher Nitec and above where applicable.

  • A bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
  • Willing to relocate to Singapore and undertake a compulsory service bond.

Japan — requisition 22388844

  • Good English and communication skills; service-oriented.
  • Minimum height of 1.58 m for women / 1.65 m for men.

A source's silence is neither permission nor a prohibition, and does not prove that no requirement exists. The airline must answer personal eligibility questions through its official process.

Start with the right listing

Read the market cards as four separate examples. Do not take education requirements from one market and height from another, then combine them into an SIA requirements list.

If your qualification differs from the source's terms, record its name exactly as issued by your educational institution. Keep equivalence questions for official channels. CCC does not convert SPM, GCE O Level, Higher Nitec, TANDAI or overseas degrees into applicant eligibility decisions.

SIA recruits directly through official channels

SIA states that it recruits cabin crew directly and does not use agents or third-party companies for cabin crew recruitment. Applications must go through Singapore Airlines' official careers channel.

CCC is not a Singapore Airlines recruitment agency, does not represent SIA and does not submit applications on the airline's behalf. Education or practice with CCC is separate from SIA's recruitment process. Do not give personal documents to anyone promising special access.

The process described in each requisition

The Singapore and Malaysia listings describe an online video interview for selected applicants, followed by final interviews for shortlisted candidates. Taiwan also describes video and final interviews. Japan describes a video interview followed by an in-person interview for those who pass the video stage.

This does not guarantee an invitation or a process that will never change. Read application instructions and official messages for the documents, schedule and venue that apply to you. Do not add a photograph or cover-letter requirement if the source for your application does not request one.

Prepare without assuming eligibility

Use your time for two separate tasks: checking whether the source answers eligibility questions, and making your experience evidence clearer. You can practise describing customer service while acknowledging that market or education questions remain unanswered.

On your CV, record education, dates and responsibilities accurately. For interview practice, choose an experience in which you listened to someone else's needs or coordinated with a team. Practice helps you explain your experience; it does not replace SIA's eligibility assessment.

INDEPENDENT CCC PRACTICE

Recruitment Market Scope Worksheet

Create a separate note for each requisition you are actually considering. This original CCC exercise helps separate facts from questions; it is not an SIA application form or assessment rubric.

  1. Recruitment market

Which market appears in the listing title?

  2. Role / source

Record the role title, official URL and requisition number.

  3. Interview location

Which city is published? Distinguish it from the Singapore work base.

  4. Qualification wording

Record qualification wording from this market only. What needs clarifying about your education?

  5. Relocation requirement

Does this listing mention relocation or a bond? If not, write not stated rather than none.

  6. Date checked

When did you open the source? Check it again before acting.

  7. Questions remaining

What remains unclear about nationality, qualifications, documents or readiness to start work?

Compare two market notes. Circle the differences without combining the requirements. If a decision depends on an unanswered fact, keep it as a question for the airline.
